Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)

Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), also referred to as acute renal failure, is a sudden and typically reversible medical condition characterized by a rapid decline in kidney function over a period of hours or days. During an AKI episode, the kidneys abruptly lose their capacity to filter waste products and excess fluid from the blood. This leads to a swift accumulation of harmful substances and fluid imbalance within the body, which can result in severe health complications.
